Unlearned brings together three Welsh floral designers Leigh Chappell, Melissa Ashley and Donna Bowen-Heath, working towards the common goal of re-defining contemporary floristry. Long gone is the floral foam and characterless mass bred sterile blooms of old. This exhibition sees our three designers breaking down all traditional notions of floristry, looking towards the unsuspecting beauty of even the lowliest of common finds within our hedgerows. 

Today’s floral design has become a medium for artists and designers to express a sense of place and time. Unlearned pays tribute to our rugged Welsh landscape and the flora and fauna that envelopes it.

Featured Maker: Every Story Ceramics

Handmade by sisters Abby & Hannah in their Vale of Belvoir studio, nestled in rural Nottinghamshire. Each piece is individually handcrafted into organic forms taking inspiration from nature and are designed to be beautiful as well as functional for simple everyday moments. A carefully curated colour palette of glazes is used to finish each piece, with no two being the same. Every piece truly tells a story.
