Lewis Prosser is an absurdist basket-maker based in Penarth, south Wales. He uses basket-making, performance, and costume design to celebrate ideas of ritual, heritage, and labour in and around the British Isles. His work aims to unite people through shared wonder and craftsmanship, with entertainment and sincerity at its heart.

Lewis's work for this commission draws inspiration from Graham Sutherland’s "Three Organic Forms," part of Sutherland’s portfolio of 25 lithographs titled "A Bestiary and Some Correspondences." In response, Lewis will create an assemblage of intricately woven willow forms, aiming to reflect Cardigan’s rich civic heritage and historic industries, including agriculture and maritime pursuits. There is a playful exchange with the sense of materiality and form through time, highlighting the interplay between historical context and contemporary craft.
