Hannah is a ceramic artist based in Cardiff. Heavily inspired by her time working at her family’s antique centre in Pembrokeshire, she creates sculptural and functional items using crank clay and porcelain. Her work explores value and conflict, and her aim is to make contemporary antiques that link past and present.

For her commissioned piece, Hannah has chosen to respond to Laura Ford’s "Glory Glory (Hat and Horns)", which explores aspects of Welsh nationality, identity, folklore, and history through abstracted figurative forms. Intrigued by the cultural visual signifiers and contemporary disquiet in Ford’s pieces, Hannah plans to explore these concepts using porcelain, incorporating influences from Welsh ceramics such as Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain. Her creation will feature her distinctive overgrown sprigging style, with elements of colour inspired by the sculpture and the concepts of identity it evokes. The piece will connect to craft and pottery through intricate details, presenting an abstracted version of the original artwork.
