Ffion is a Welsh textile artist from Conwy, known for creating sensory, tactile constructions that invite playful interaction and evoke moments of joy and curiosity. Her work is deeply inspired by everyday objects and our relationships with them.

For her commissioned piece, Ffion draws inspiration from the vibrant floral paintings of Nerys Johnson, a respected curator and artist from Colwyn Bay who, despite her struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, pursued a successful artistic career to create bold and colourful works. Ffion’s chosen artwork by Johnson is "Autumn Leaves with Rosehips II." Her piece will feature soft sculptural objects inspired by the plant shapes found in Johnson’s art. These sculptures, lightly tacked to the main section, will allow the public to interact with the piece, moving the elements around to create their own visual compositions. This interactive element not only pays homage to Johnson’s dynamic use of colour and form but also invites viewers to engage with the work in a tactile, playful manner, reflecting Ffion’s commitment to creating art that is both visually striking and deeply engaging.
