Ella is a self-taught potter living with her young family in Cardigan, West Wales. Her background in fine art painting brings a strong narrative style to her work.

For this commission, Ella draws inspiration from two paintings by the cherished Welsh artist Kyffin Williams, "Farmers on Carneddau" and "Cottages, Llanddona," both homages to his home in North Wales. His evocative depictions of the Carneddau range and the iconic hill farmers with their sheepdogs are familiar elements in his work. Ella will skilfully incorporate the depth, layers, and distinctive mark-making from these paintings into her pottery, creating pieces that echo the emotional resonance and visual power of Williams' art. Her work not only celebrates the rich artistic heritage of Wales but also brings a contemporary interpretation to these iconic landscapes.
