My Place: A textile workshop with artist Angela Maddock

An exclusive opportunity to join artist Angela Maddock for a gallery talk and textile workshop alongside her exhibition at Oriel Myrddin Gallery Sometimes all you can do is walk.

Start the day with a personal insight into our current exhibition from the artist and hear about the epic walk she undertook in 2018 between Carmarthen and Middlesbrough which inspired the work in the show.

In the workshop you are invited to use a meaningful experience of your own (such as a special walk, garden or location) to create a stitched map or landscape on a square of wool flannel (about 25cm). You will learn to use a range of different stitching techniques and the panel can then be edged and taken away to be framed or perhaps incorporated into a larger textile panel, blanket or quilt of your own.
