Back Wall Series: Claire Prosser

Claire Prosser is the latest in our series of Welsh artists featured as part of our Back Wall Series in the gallery shop.

“Typically, I make work that looks at our relationship between one another, our environment and behaviours around place-making. Though my works often take the form of film, performance and installation, drawing is used as a fundamental tool to see, record and remember.

Both drawing and walking are deep acts that allow me to tap into a state of subconsciousness; Drawing becomes another place within a place. When drawing, the viewpoint transitions between microscopic and macroscopic simultaneously- giving way to drawings that look in and out, expand and contract. My enjoyment of the varied physical materiality of our surroundings are mirrored in the layers of drawn gestures that vary in weight and scale.

The drawings on show are recent works, taking place in Manorbier, Pembrokeshire and Treherbert, Rhonnda Cynon Taff.”

All work is for sale. By purchasing artwork you are supporting an individual artist.  You are also helping Oriel Myrddin become more financially sustainable.
