Oriel Myrddin Gallery has the great opportunity to work with four schools across Carmarthenshire as part of the Great Art Quest, a UK-wide arts project designed by The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts. Experienced artist Keith Bayliss and storyteller Megan Lloyd will collaborate to draw out the stories and poetry of our winter exhibition Seren Wen. Welsh stories and the unique imagery of Dylan Thomas will form the starting point for the project which introduces a range of storytelling and expressive mark making techniques to develop skills in oracy, vocabulary and visual language. The project aims to give teachers a creative ‘toolbox’ of activities and ideas for the classroom, practical creative building blocks for teachers to bring storytelling and art into their existing scheme of work and increase confidence in using arts in the classroom and in leading their class through gallery visits.
