Reindeer Day

Oriel Myrddin Gallery will be a-buzz with activity this Saturday!

As Santa’s (real) reindeer come to Carmarthen for the annual Reindeer Day Parade through the town the gallery will be offering lots of things to do for little ones and adults alike.

Come and make a simple Reindeer puppet with the children to carry during the parade from 10 – 3 in the main gallery. Free, drop-in event.

We’ll also have a real Christmas tree in the foyer, come and print a Christmas decoration to hang on the tree using the hand lino-cut stamps made by Carmarthenshire artist Sarah Lees. You can also print a Christmas card and tag to take home for yourself.

Sarah Lees has also been invited to undertake our Artist Christmas Tree Commission for 2017, she has a produced a beautiful hand printed banner for the main gallery, ‘A Lexicon of Winter Animals’, which features lino-cuts of 9 winter animals.

We’ll have mulled cider available to ward of the winter chill and the opportunity to find your special Christmas presents in our 2017 Makers Market which features beautifully crafted and carefully selected ceramics, textiles, clothing, wood and leather as well as small local food producers.

With over 30 artists and makers showing their work, there’s something for every pocket from that extra special hand crafted gift to a range of unusual stocking fillers.
